Littlehampton Lions president Alan Kerry, with fellow Lions June Kerry and Norman Blackmore, made the presentation to hospice fundraiser Caroline Quigley-Roberts.

The fayre in June was a novel event that replaced the Rustington Carnival and it is planned to be a regular feature of the village.

The Lions collaborated with Rustington Chamber of Trade and Commerce to produce the event and at the heart of it was a charity street fayre, supported by more than 20 local good causes.

Rustington princess Tilly Elder and attendants Emilie Huttly and Chloe Anderton opened the event at the Grand Pagoda Stage on Rustington Methodist Church’s lawns.

Alan said the event was deeply indebted to Rustington Methodist Church, which had permitted the use of its grounds and facilities.

Entertainment was spread the length of the village, with music, Punch and Judy, and a children’s storyteller.
