“The town is expected to have a shortfall of primary school places in the near future, so getting the right plans in place for a new school are vital. We are looking forward to meeting more parents and hearing their comments over the next few weeks.”

Judy Grevett, headteacher of River Beach Primary School and a director of Schoolsworks Academy Trust, said: “The initial feedback from both parents and the local community has been extremely positive, and we have already had over two hundred expressions of support through letter and signature.

“We are very excited by the level of interest we’ve already seen, proving that the concept of a new school in the area will be well supported.
