Good news as food hygiene ratings handed to eight Mid Sussex establishments

A Food Standards Agency rating sticker on a window of a restaurant in central London. A huge variation in food hygiene standards remains across the UK, with one in five high or medium-risk food outlets failing to meet standards, according to a study.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to eight of Mid Sussex’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.

Restaurants, cafes and canteens

The following ratings have been given to five restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: JO.CO at Jojo Cafe, The Old Forge Garage, High Street, Handcross; rated on December 1

• Rated 5: Mad Dog Coffee Lounge at 14 High Street, East Grinstead, West Sussex; rated on November 30

• Rated 5: Burgess Hill Theatre Club at 98 Church Walk, Burgess Hill, West Sussex; rated on November 29

• Rated 5: McDonalds at Mcdonalds Drive Thru And Restaurant, Civic Way, Burgess Hill, West Sussex; rated on November 28

• Rated 5: Greggs at Esso, Copthorne Service Station, Copthorne Common, Copthorne; rated on November 7

Pubs, bars and nightclubs

And one rating has been handed to a pub, bar or nightclub:

• Rated 5: Copthorne Golf Club at Borers Arms Road, Copthorne, Crawley; rated on November 28
