Littlehampton braced for family fun day

FAMILY fun, puppy shenanigans, dancing and even a live performance from Elvis Presley – or as close as could be to the pop legend – are on the cards in Littlehampton, this weekend.

David Chace, of Chace Catering, is holding a charity family funday extravaganza in Mewsbrook Park, on Saturday (August 11).

The event, which will be supporting Littlehampton mayor Emma Neno’s two chosen charities, Cancerwise, Home-Start Arun as well as WADARS, will kick off from 10am.

Expect dynamic performances from The Wonder Girls dance troupe as well as the Traditional Portuguese Dancers, in the morning.

With the Olympic celebrations in full swing, local dogs and their owners will be going for their own gold medals at the Mayor’s Fun Dog Show.

There are six categories available on the day, from dog with the “waggiest” tail, to the scruffiest and even the dog with the most impressive tricks.

Registration opens from 11am with the competition beginning at 11.15am. Entrance is £1 per category.

An Elvis Presley impersonator will be taking to the stage from 12.30pm and wandering around the park in his blue suede shoes. And at 2pm there will be a live music from The Boxty Band.

Throughout the day there will a children’s facepainting, the human giro ride, inflatable assault course, as well as football fun and raffles, too.

The fund-raiser is scheduled to end at 5pm.
