The Hurricanes played brilliantly against a very high standard of opposition. They started off with an early win against Old Rutlishians but then lost to Old Cranleighans.

They then played two further group games, one against Esher and another against Windsor, both of which they lost by a single try - a great performance for this group of U7 players.

The Spitfires had an incredible day. They won all of their groups games against Old Cranleighans, Old Rutlishians and London Irish, which meant they won their group and qualified for a semi-final against Wimbledon Warriors, who they also beat quite convincingly.

This put them through to the final against the hosts, Esher, who were a very strong side – however after a nail-biting game Haywards Heath Spitfires won 6-5 and so came away with the U7s Winners Trophy.

All in all it was a fantastic team effort, with brilliant individual performances from all players throughout the festival. However it was Toby Simpson who became a real differentiator between Heath and the other teams at the festival. He put consistent pressure on the opposition when they had the ball and on a handful of occasions forced a turnover or intercepted the ball and ran in tries.

Congratulations to both Heath Under 7 teams on a fantastic performance - great effort and great results!
