Three off in Steyning victory

STEYNING TOWN Football Club won 3-2 at local-rivals Southwick on Saturday in a game of 12 bookings and three red cards.

All the cards were shown in a second half which lasted 57 minutes.

On 90 minutes, Nick Green's late tackle on Steyning keeper Dave Angell got him his second yellow card. Angell's retaliation earned him a straight red.

Then, seven minutes into stoppage time, Southwick defender Tony Timms was booked twice within seconds for dissent then foul and abusive language.

In total, Southwick received seven yellow cards and Steyning five.

Steyning led three times during the match with James Davis' 84th-minute diving header the winner.

Chris Duffett had opened the scoring on 12 minutes before Green equalised nine minutes later.

James Pargeter put Town back ahead from the penalty spot on 54 minutes but Wickers levelled with a spot-kick of their own on 72 minutes through Lee Thompson.
