Tate blasts Sidley to victory

SIDLEY United clinched an impressive 3-1 Sussex League win at home to Southwick on Saturday.

Shae Spreafico gave the home side a great start with a goal inside six minutes, but the gifted midfielder's afternoon came to a premature end when he had to be carried off after a reckless challenge by Neil Winter.

The Wickers hit back on the stroke of half time through Carl Dunk.

United regained the lead 10 minutes into the second half when substitute Wes Tate's low shot beat keeper Danny Long at his near post.

A second yellow card for Winter meant he got his marching orders and soon after Tate sealed the win with a thumping finish following a neat one-two with Dave Carey.
