Six-goal Ringmer

Brighton Charity CupSaltdean Utd 3 Ringmer 6

Ringmer recovered quickly from the shock of conceding an early goal to overcome stout resistance from the Tigers before emerging as clear winners with four goals from Aaron MacMillan.

The home side took the lead after eight minutes when a cross from the left found Matt Barton on hand to force the ball home with Matt May struggling to get back across his goal.

Ringmer responded immediately with Aaron MacMillan connecting with a cross from Eddie Koboah to fire in the equaliser.

Moments later Matt Beeston had a shot cleared off the line before a period of end-to-end football culminated in another burst down the right flank from the dangerous Koboah. Koboah's cross caused panic in the Tigers' defence before Luke Gedling's shot through a ruck of players gave Ringmer the lead five minutes before half time.

The match was settled in Ringmer's favour as Aaron MacMillan scored three more goals in the space of 20 minutes to provide the Blues boss, Steve Johnson, the chance to give three youngsters, Richard Brookes, Jack Hayward and Jack Sewell, ample time to demonstrate their potential.

Ringmer's sixth goal came from Mark Price when he beat the keeper to a loose ball before sliding it into an empty net.
