Sidley stunned by late strike

A GOAL six minutes from time condemned Sidley United to their first defeat of the season at Sidlesham on Saturday.

With the Sussex Division One game seemingly petering out to a dull stalemate, Scott Tipper claimed one of the luckiest goals he will ever score to deny The Blues a point.

Joint-manager Glen Sully said: "I am very disappointed. It had nil-nil written all over it until a soft goal at the end."

After a drab game, the body blow came when a clearance in the visitors box hit Tipper's back, looped high in the air and dropped under the crossbar to the amazement of keeper John Gardner.
