ROOKS SNATCH DRAW AT THE DEATH

Lewes were five minutes from crashing out of the cup to lowly Horsham and missing their one chance of silverware this season.

After a lacklustre goalless 90 minutes the Hornets snatched a lead in the first period of extra time as Lee Carney played a simple through ball that opened the Rooks' defence and found target man Carl Rook one-on-one with Steve Williams.

The visitors were still ahead with only minutes left on the extra-time clock when Craig O'Connor forced Horsham's outstanding young keeper Gareth Williams to parry a shot with Lee Farrell on hand to net the rebound.
