Hampsden Park youngsters show they really are junior aces

Hampden Park Tennis Club’s Junior Aces held their end-of-year finals.

Every Sunday evening throughout the year the Hampden juniors play matches to try to be top of the ladder at the end of the year.

After the last Ladder event of the year, Dale Upton was top, Tom Perry second. Third and fourth were Ben Taylor and Caitlin Neilan.

Dale was also crowned best boy of the year as he had significantly improved over 2020, playing three times a week when Covid allowed and winning the Aces Points competition which gives him a point every time he wins a game each Sunday. He amassesd 195 points even during this year.

Aces Points runner-up was Lisa Tyrrell with 187 points, third was Caitlin Neilan with 173.

Caitlin Neilan was also crowned best girl of the year for the third year in a row.

She has steadily improved throughout the year and won the girls’ singles. She was fourth on the Aces ladder and third in the Aces points race.
