The first team enjoy an eight-point lead over their closest rivals with just three games to play.

Two other teams staking title claims were the men’s hockey firsts, who won 5-0 away to Royal Free, and the men’s lacrosse side, who won 20-1 against Brunel. There were much-needed wins for the men’s rugby firsts and seconds, who beat Portsmouth 13-11 and University of Arts 38-0 respectively to move away from relegation fears.

One team missing out on a league title were the men’s basketball seconds, who lost at home to Hertfordshire seconds 53-58.
