Miller downs champs

Maresfield Village pulled off a great 5-1 victory over Wisdom Sports as the champions had two players sent off in the Premier Division of the Robert Gray & Co Mid Sussex League. Joseph Miller was the hat-trick hero while Greg Chapell and Stephen Joyce got the others.

Matthew Cumming also hit a hat-trick as Newick ran out 5-1 winners over Cuckfield Town. Chris Smerdon and Simon Rider got the others.

Tony Wood and Khan Stevens were on target as Willingdon Athletic drew 2-2 at Nutley, while William Pountney netted for Lewes Bridge View in a 3-1 home defeat by Hassocks thirds.

In division one Coppard and Moore each scored twice in Barcombe's 7-1 win over Old Varndeanians seconds, while Gordon and Davis netted in Plumpton Athletic's 2-2 draw with Felbridge.

In division four Ransom scored five times in Chailey's 6-4 home win over Dormansland Rockets and Burchett hit a hat-trick in Fletching's 6-2 win at Old Vandeanians thirds.

Walsey was on target four times in Uckfield Town thirds 8-1 victory over Wealden thirds.

Luke Turner (two), Ross Frampton and Russell Anderson scored for Jarvis Brook as they beat Lindfield 4-0 in the first round of the Senior Charity Cup.

Colbourne (two) and Emery saw Lewes Bridge View seconds home 3-0 against Crowborough thirds in the first round of the Stubbins Cup.

Ryan Walton grabbed the honours in the Lewes Sunday League with five goals for Jolly Boatman to stump Southwick Cricketers 7-2 in the Challenge Cup. Jay Roberts and Aaron Blackwell got the others.

In the Challenge Trophy competition Stuart Martin also scored five times as Jarvis Brook had a runaway 15-3 win over Engineer. Dave Scarlett and Carl Berwick each netted hat-tricks while Markin Wickens hit two and Mark Atkinson and Ross Frampton one each.

John Snelgrove scored twice and Jason Pook once as Seaford Cinque Ports defeated Crawley Eagles 3-2.

Terry Walker and Chris Shoult each scored twice but FC Glynde were on the wrong end of a 6-4 scoreline against Eastbourne Albion, but Seaford Crown went through with a 5-0 defeat of Newhaven Railway Club. Ben Dartnell (two), Adam Kneller, Kevin James and Ritchie Rhylstone got the goals.

Ben Mitchell's goal saw Uckfield Cinque Ports through 1-0 against Ocean Wave.

In Division Two Kingston Village beat Kings Arms 6-2, with Rob Harrison (two), Richard March (two), Matt Savage and Graham Leach getting on the scoresheet.

Paul Adams netted twice in Peacehaven Acads 5-2 victory over Martello Inn.
