Littlehampton enjoy comfortable win over Sussex Police

LITTLEHAMPTON Rugby Club enjoyed their second successive victory in Sussex League Division 2 West on Saturday with a 41-3 success over Sussex Police.

Ian Ritchie touched down early on for Littlehampton, with Dean Torode converting.

Both teams looked strong in the scrums before quick hands and good pace from Ben Best led to a try for Torode, which he converted.

Police closed the gap to 14-3 with a penalty but Littlehampton soon pushed forward and a quick pass from Mark Cullen saw Mark Lovegrove go over.

Best also touched down just before the break to make the half-time score 24-3.

Police got the better of the lineouts at the start of the second half, with Littlehampton enjoying the better of the scrums, and it was Littlehampton who got the first points of the half when Bobby Matthews went over.

Richard Russell soon touched down another try, which Torode converted and Cullen then wrapped up the scoring when he dived over.
