HUDSON GETS EP ON THE ROAD TO SURVIVAL

EAST PRESTON FC took a giant step towards securing their first division status with a crucial victory over local-rivals Arundel in a game lacking in both quality and goalmouth incident on Tuesday.

Ryan Hudson's second-half strike set EP on their way before Sonny Banks wrapped up the points with an 83rd-minute clincher in a game played on a hard, uneven pitch which did little to help the players produce an attractive game.

EP probably deserved their victory after carving out the better of the chances, although until Hudson's opener neither side had looked remotely threatening.

Chris Hazel's mis-control on the half-hour produced the first meaningful incident of the half, allowing Dave Walker to bear down on goal, but his cross-shot was gathered at the second attempt by a grateful Simon Davey.
