The Essex club occupy the second from bottom relegation play-off place and are seven points adrift of Horsham with three matches to play. Defeat could make for an uncomfortable final two games though and Horsham coach Paul Johnson is desperate to extinguish any possibility of a repeat of last-season’s last-gasp survival this weekend.

He said: “We just need a point, a defeat makes it a lot tighter than I would like. We’re eighth, and I do believe we deserve to be higher. I’m confident we’ll pick up points to finish higher but we need to be ware of Chelmsford because they are fighting for their lives.”
