Horsham deserve their victory against Mid Sussex in West Sussex Billiards League

The West Sussex Billiards League match held at the Roffey Club saw Horsham’s John Hoad open with breaks of 34 and 32 to outshine his Mid Sussex opponent Barry Martin 200-169.

His colleague Dave Liley was in outstanding form building breaks of 35 and 36 to move on for a comfortable win over Stuart Williamson 200-110.

Both skippers came to the table and it was the host’s Maurice Wickens showing true grit to outwit Ian Janman 200-136. This meant that the evergreen Ken Warren was required to avoid a Middies whitewash, he did not let his team down when he used all of his green baize experience to defeat Adrian Laker 200-179.

Horsham deserved their 3-1 victory and currently top the league table, the match was well marshalled by referees Dennis Wakeford and Roy Tucknott.
