Holland qualifies for national event
BEXHILL-based bowler Stuart Holland has qualified for the national finals of the National Express Junior Singles Championship for the second time.
The 17-year-old, who also appeared in the finals of the under-25s event three years ago, booked his place at Beach House Park in Worthing on August 13-14 by virtue of winning the Sussex area qualifier last weekend.
Holland, who also made his second appearance for Bexhill Cricket Club's first team on Saturday, dropped just two shots in clinching his semi-final against Tom Dickens by two sets to nil prior to defeating Gavin Bevan 10-5, 11-7 in the final at Worthing Pavilion.
Holland, who will take on the Wiltshire area qualifier in the first round of the finals, has also twice reached the finals of the equivalent indoor competition.
