GOLDS SHOWN HOW IT'S DONE

Golds went into the match on the back of five games without defeat, but were outdone on the day by a Hillians side looking to return to winning ways after suffering consecutive cup exits to Southwick and Rye.

Burgess Hill looked sharp throughout the side and wingers Nicky Sullivan and Paul Williams caused devastation on each flank. Both men were equally comfortable running at defenders or passing intelligently, but Williams in particular was outstanding.

His attacking ability helped him play an instrumental part in each goal, yet he never failed to track back when possession was lost. Such levels of work-rate and ability were glimpsed only fleetingly in the Littlehampton play, primarily in substitute Stuart Sell, who provided a genuine edge to the Golds attack when he arrived three minutes into the second half.
