Giants to welcome American stars

The club is set for the arrival of some excellent overseas basketball talent when the Team USA Select Basketball organisation visits Bexhill as part of its European Exposure Tour which has already sold out arenas across the continent.

Tomorrow (Sunday) will see the Giants, who have won three summer tournaments to date, host the Hastings Direct-sponsored four-team International Basketball Tournament at Bexhill Leisure Centre.

The Giants and USA Select will be joined by two National League teams Sussex Bears and Crawley United. The six-match event will start at 11am is scheduled to finish at 5pm.

Following the tournament, USA Select will return with their two remaining squads for exhibition matches against the Giants and a Sussex Select side on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tuesday’s match will be preceded by a free coaching clinic conducted by Team USA coaching staff, offering players of all abilities the opportunity to receive quality and fun coaching with the aim of attracting them into the sport and raising its profile locally.

The matches have already attracted the attention of locals with fantastic crowds expected. The events will also include dunk contests and prize give-aways.
