Gavin's great start for Sussex

Fresh from his man-of-the-match performance with the Sussex under-21 men's team in Cornwall, 19-year-old Gavin Studholme from Uckfield made his debut for the county's B side against Buckinghamshire in Brighton on Saturday.

The ladies B team lost 6-0 and the men were trailing 5-2 when Gavin took the stage, and he hit 180 with his first three darts, checking out on 101 in the first leg and going on to win 3-0 against the Bucks' team manager Nigel Beven with a 23.30 award-winning average.

Team manager Geoff Taylor said: 'This is another terrific young prospect for Sussex coming through from the youth organisation in the same way as young England stars Michael and Kelly Hammond.'
