The U’s return to Ryman Football League Division One South action with visits from Worthing today (Saturday) and Merstham on Monday night.

United manager Terry White said: “The two games in three days are very important, especially with them both being at home. If we can get two positive results, then we will be a lot closer to being where we want to be. Our performance level, shape and team ethic have been a lot better in the last two games so we need to build on that.”

Kenny Pogue will go straight into the squad after returning to the club and Sam Adams has a big chance of going back into the starting XI, but Jordan Johnson starts a three-game ban.

“I’m delighted to have Kenny back,” White continued. “I think he almost immediately realised he didn’t want to leave and was man enough to admit so. He gives us different options to what we already have up-front and will have a big part to play this season.

“I’m not totally sure I have absolutely the right blend on the pitch, but we are close so if the right player becomes available, we will take a look.

“We have a few little niggles which are probably associated with the volume of games played. I doubt that the team which takes the field on Saturday will be the one on Monday which is why we need a good squad.”
