Selsey keen to get back on the pitch

The High Street Ground outfit will see action for the first time in a fortnight on Saturday when Selsey look to make it four wins in a row when fifth-placed Hassocks visit.

After the 2-0 win over Sidley, Selsey rose to eighth and while that league position has suffered, several of the teams around Selsey have now played games in hand – leaving the club still in a healthy position.

Martin said: “All the sides around us are playing each other so they can’t all pick up points.

“It’s been business as usual here. We’ve had a good training session and are ready for Saturday.

“We’ll try to carry on as if we haven’t had a week off – we hope to get points from all our home games.

“It will be a tough game – we played them second game of the season and I was impressed with them.

“It will be a good test to see how far we’ve come – we have improved the squad since then but I take games as they come.”

Martin may be able to call on striker Ed Bowers and midfielder James Fallick after they attended training despite injury worries and says they should be back for the game at Eastbourne United if not Saturday.

Selsey soon face top two sides Crawley Down and Three Bridges.
