Mullets fall to away reverse at Ringmer

A brace from Jordan Stubbins and a Jordan Woodley strike sent Mullets to defeat in the County League Division 1 match.

Arundel boss Simon Butler felt that Ringmer were the hungrier of the two sides and said: “I think they just wanted the victory a little more than we did.

“We were 2-0 down at the break and it’s always going to be a long way back from there.

“Ricky Gardner netted to give us a lifeline but we conceded soon afterwards and that was the end for us.

“Both our reserve and first teams have cup finals coming up, so players are playing for their places.”

Stubbins fired Ringmer into an early lead, before Woodley netted on 29 minutes to make it 2-0.

Arundel got themselves back into the contest when Gardner struck on the hour.

The home side regained their two-goal advantage five minutes later, though, as Stubbins netted for a second time.

Arundel were reduced to ten-men soon afterwards when Nathan Da Costa received his marching orders for an off-the-ball incident.

The Mullets host Hailsham Town on Saturday.
