Two goals early in the second half from Nick Tsaroulla and Ashley Nadeson followed by a close range effort from Jordan Tunnicliffe handed John Yems a memorable victory over Marcelo Bielsa, but who else shone for the Red Devils? Here is how journalism student Sam Cox rated the Reds. You can read Coren Blackburn's match report here
5. Jordan Tunnicliffe - 9
A goal and a clean sheet against Premier League opposition, afternoons may not get much better for Tunnicliffe. During the first half, the former Barnsley defender was defensively strong in the air, and calmly fired the ball into the roof of the net in the second half when the ball fell at his feet following Kiko Casilla’s tame save.
6. Tom Dallison - 8
Despite playing in unfamiliar surroundings at left-back, the conventional central defender never looked out of place. He dealt well with Leeds’s threat down the wings throughout, and provided accurate diagonal passes to the front-line.
7. Nick Tsaroulla - 9
One of the stars of the show. Tsaroulla showed the energy and confidence of someone who plies their trade in a higher division. His opener was arguably the pick of the bunch.
8. Jack Powell - 8
Powell’s performance may not grab the headlines but he did the dirty work well for the Red Devils. Looked comfortable in possession, and nullified the threat of Jamie Shackleton.
