Brighton & Hove Albion’s Jack Hinshelwood has been included in a list of the top 50 best wonderkids in world football.
The Worthing-born midfielder has been named alongside some of the world’s best youngsters in this year’s GOAL NXGN top 50.
The annual NXGN list highlights the 50 most incredible prospects to have been born after January 1, 2005.
Hinshelwood has made quite the impact this season. The versatile teenager has scored three goals in 12 Premier League appearances – including a superb effort in Albion’s 4-1 demolition of fierce rivals Crystal Palace at the Amex in February – but faces a stint on the sidelines after suffering a stress fracture in his foot.
But who else has made this list of the game’s brightest stars of the future?
The top 50 includes talents from across European football’s biggest clubs – including FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester United.

45. Kobbie Mainoo - Manchester United
Kobbie Mainoo has been a bright spot in a somewhat disappointing season for Manchester United. Mainoo made his first league start for United on November 26, 2023, in a 3-0 Premier League victory away at Everton in which he received the man of the match award. On January 28, 2024, the midfielder scored his first goal for the Reds in a 4-2 win at Newport County in the fourth round of the FA Cup. A few days later, on February 1, the teenager scored his first ever Premier League goal in a 4-3 victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers, scoring a 97th minute winner. 46. Vitor Roque - FC Barcelona
FC Barcelona striker Vitor Roque is used to pressure. In April 2022, Roque became the biggest transfer in Athletico Paranaense's history, after the club activated his R$24m release clause at Cruzeiro. The forward plundered 28 goals in 81 appearances for Furacão before Barça came calling. On July 12, 2023, the Catalan giants announced that they had reached an agreement for the transfer of Roque with Athletico, agreeing a contract until 2030-31 season with a buyout clause of €500m. On January 31, Roque scored his first Barcelona goal, winning the match in a La Liga game against Osasuna. Roque was called up for the first time for the Brazil national team to play in a friendly match against Morocco on March 25, 2023. 47. Arda Güler - Real Madrid
Arda Güler has a plethora big-match experience despite just turning 19. In March 2022, Güler became Fenerbahçe's youngest goalscorer in Süper Lig history, having just turned 17 three weeks earlier. By May 2022, Güler had scored three goals and delivered three assists in just 255 minutes of playing time. At the start of 2022-23 season, after the departure of Mesut Özil, Güler was given Fenerbahçe's number 10 shirt. After an impressive start to his career, it was reported that European heavyweights including Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain were interested in signing him. But it was Real Madrid who won the race for the attacking midfielder, who has been branded the 'Turkish Messi' by local media.In July, Real announced the signing of Güler to a six-year contract lasting until June 2029. On January 14, he won his first trophy with Real Madrid in the Supercopa de España final. On March 10, Güler scored his first La Liga goal for Real Madrid, dribbling past Celta goalkeeper Vicente Guaita in the fourth minute of stoppage time, to seal a 4–0 victory over Celta Vigo. He made his senior international debut for Turkey in November 2022, in their 2-1 friendly win against Czechia. He scored his first goal against Wales in a UEFA Euro 2024 qualifier in June 2023. 48. Mathys Tel - Bayern Munich
Mathys Tel has enjoyed a breakout season for Bayern Munich, in spite of the Bavarian club's travails in the Bundesliga. The striker began his professional career at Stade Rennais. He made his professional debut at 16 years and 110 days, making him the youngest player to appear in an official match for Rennes, a record which was previously held by Eduardo Camavinga. Bayern paid Rennes €28.5m to bring Tel to Germany in July 2022. On August 31, 2022, he scored his first goal in a 5-0 win over Viktoria Köln in the DFB-Pokal, to become the youngest goalscorer for the club in a competitive match, aged 17 years and 126 days. He scored his first Bundesliga goal in a 2-2 draw against Stuttgart on September 10, 2022, to be the youngest scorer for the club in that competition. Tel has been appeared regularly for Bayern in 2023-24. The French starlet has, so far, netted eight goals in 32 appearances in all competitions for his club.
