Bowls ace can hold his head high
STUART Holland can hold his head high despite crashing out in the first round of the National Indoor Bowls Championship at under-25 level.
The 14-year-old Bexhill High youngster was on the wrong end of a 21-3 defeat against experienced David Bolt of Sunderland in the last 32 but the scoreline masks a fine performance from the Egerton Park Indoor Bowls Club starlet.
Stuart, who had to beat three players to qualify for the extravaganza in Nottingham, commented philosophically: "It wasn't too bad but he showed he was an England player and I'm still really County. Everything was right apart from the finishing. I had no luck throughout the match."
Stuart junior's next major event is on Sunday when he will represent Sussex in the Home Counties Championship against Dorset in Bournemouth.
