Big boxing night on the cards

THE finals of the eagerly anticipated Southern Counties Boxing Championships take place at the ATHA Showbar on Saturday February 22.

Eight titles will be up for grabs in what promises to be a night to savour for fight fans. A. Gough and J. Mitchell will lock horns in the featherweight final while the lightweight title will be claimed by either B. Jones or M. Tew.

N. Wray and A. Tew will face off for the welterweight prize, the light middleweight title will bring together S. Wallford and M. Welsh, while B. Goodie and S. Ede will decide the middleweight award. The light heavyweight crown is the incentive for D. Taylor and G. Kelly, while F. Booker and S. Reid will battle it out in what promises to be a humdinger of a heavyweight bout. G. Potter and M. Thomas will contest the super heavyweight category. S. Brazil and S. Bosquet have been awarded walkovers in the flyweight and bantamweight divisions respectively.

Tickets cost 10 and are available on the door in Little Common Road. The action commences at approximately 7.30pm.
