Barefoot trimming advice

BAREFOOT trimming has always been a contentious issue in the equestrian world and there is a lot of contradictory information out there.

Mike Williams, a partner at The Farriery Practice in Broadbridge Heath, Horsham, is one of the local experts who can advise.

He explained: "Barefoot trimming is the erm used to

descrine trimming horses' hooves so they can be ridden without the use of metal shows."

"It is a subject that the horse world seems unable to agree upon, with those infavour citing improved horse health, soundness and performance, while those against often claim the opposite."
