Arundel RDA celebrates 30th in style

ARUNDEL RDA group has celebrated its 30th anniversary in style with two riders winning through to the National Riding for Disabled Association Championships at Hartpury, near Gloucester in July.

The group was founded by Joy Leggett in 1979 and riders took part in the South East Region RDA Fun Day earlier this month at Felbridge Showground, near East Grinstead, sponsored by Copwan Architects.

Riders from the Arundel Group took part in the gymkhana games, handy pony competitions and The Countryside Challenge.

Emma Champion from the Lavinia Norfolk Centre at Angmering School and Bob Ide of Rustington competed in the Countryside Challenge riding Shamus, kindly loaned by Alison Leggett of the Arundel Farm Riding and Driving Centre.

Emma, who has been riding with the group since September 2007, was placed first in her class (junior with sidewalker) and won the South East Regional Trophy for the highest score of the day in the Countryside Challenge.

Bob also won first prize in his class (senior riding independently). Both riders qualify to go forward to the National Championships on July 11 and 12.
