Arundel grab third place

ARUNDEL Football Club have finished third in County League Division 1 after winning 2-1 at Chichester on Bank Holiday Monday.

Mullets have now finished above Crowborough on goal difference after winning seven and drawing two of their last nine league games.

Matt Huckett scored both Mullets' goals and Arundel keeper Ben O'Connor saved a penalty.

Arundel manager Vic Short said: "When we lost at home to Crowborough, everyone wrote us off, so to nick third is excellent.

"We only got two points from our games against Eastbourne Town, Whitehawk and Crowborough and looking back, you start to think about what might have been."
