As the shops start to gear themselves up for Christmas, Bognor Regis Town Council has appealed for help from businessmen for donations and sponsorship to help it light up the town.

New displays are planned for the High Street as part of a rolling programme of improvements over a wider area of the town and the switch-on event on Saturday, November 17, at 4pm is set to include a wealth of fun and entertainment throughout the day.

Among the activities planned is a static nativity scene with live animals, and a Santa's Grotto in the Alexandra Theatre in the Regis Centre, to street entertainers and carol singers.

The call has gone out to help out with donations or raffle prizes for switch-on event. Gifts for Santa's grotto are also needed.

Financial support by way of banner sponsorship with banners displayed across the London Road precinct for a month during the run-up to Christmas is also available.
