Yapton man taken to hospital after A29 crash

A Yapton man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash.

The 56-year-old motorbike rider was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital after a collision on the A29 London Road at Whiteways roundabout, Houghton this afternoon (August 8).

The man’s Honda CBR motorcycle was involved in an accident with a silver Ford Fiesta van.

The 54-year-old van driver from Haywards Heath was uninjured.

Emergency services, including the police helicopter, attended the scene of the collision about 12.50pm.

The A29 remained closed in both directions at 3.30pm and police have thanked drivers for their patience, while officers investigated the cause of the accident.
