Worthing police appeals

A bag snatch, stolen forklift truck and vandalised cars are all crimes where police are seeking more information from the public.

Bag snatch

A THEATRE-GOER had her handbag stolen by a young man with long hair.

The brown bag, which contained a mobile phone, cosmetics and loose change, was taken from the Pavilion Theatre, at around 8pm on September 6.

A FORKLIFT truck was stolen from a building site in Worthing.

Thieves lifted off the hinges of a side gate at the site, in West Avenue, before using the truck to force their way out through the main double gates.

The theft of the JCB truck happened sometime between 5.15pm last Tuesday and 7.15am on Wednesday, September 19.

Cocaine arrest

A MAN was arrested for possessing cocaine after a small white parcel fell out of his pocket in a Worthing bar.

A security guard at Bar Breeze, Marine Parade, knocked on the door of a toilet cubicle which had been locked for some time during the evening on Friday, September 21.

A man came out, but as he walked away a white-coloured wrap fell from his pocket.

The security guard detained the man until police arrived and arrested him at around midnight.

The man, aged in his late 20s to early 30s, admitted he was in possession of a class A drug (cocaine) and was given a caution.

Cars vandalised

VANDALS smashed the passenger windows of two cars in a Worthing car park on Sunday, September 23.

Nothing was taken from the cars, which were parked in the Teville Gate overspill car park at around midnight.

Girl grabbed

POLICE arrested a man after he grabbed the bum of a German student in Worthing town centre.

The 17-year-old girl was with a group of foreign students outside McDonalds, on Saturday, September 22, when a group of youths walked past.

One of the group grabbed her bum before walking into the fast food restaurant in the Montague Centre.

The girl was able to point out the 18-year-old male to police, who had been in the town centre on patrol.

He was arrested for sexual assault and taken into custody where he admitted the charge and was given a caution.
