Within 48 hours Lions International committed a major catastrophe grant of 250,000 to address immediate needs and provide medicines, clothing, blankets and temporary housing.

A team of 40 Lion members from China have travelled to the Sichuan province to assist with hands-on relief, disbursing relief materials including tents, medicines and food. Working with the Chinese Red Cross, Lions have purchased 10 relief vehicles and ambulances.
