Worthing Christmas and new year rubbish collection

WORTHING Council has revealed its rubbish and recycling collection schedule for Christmas and the new year.

There will be no collections on Christmas Day, Friday, December 25, and Monday, December 28, or New Year's Day, Friday, January 1.

There will also be no garden waste collections from Christmas Day until Monday, January 11, 2010.

Residents can recycle real Christmas trees from Monday, January 11, by placing them on the kerbside on the day of refuse collection where it will be sent for composting.

Alternatively, there is the option of taking the trees, without the decorations, to household waste recycling sites at Brighton Road, Shoreham, or Dominion Way, Worthing.

Wrapping paper (non metallic) and greetings cards can also be recycled in blue lidded bins.

Guide to collection days

Last collection Friday, December 18: Emptied after Christmas on Tuesday, December 29, and after new year on Wednesday, January 6.

Last collection Monday, December 21: Emptied after Christmas on Wednesday, December 30, and after new year on Thursday, January 7.

Last collection Tuesday, December 22: Emptied after Christmas on Thursday, December 31, and after new year on Friday, January 8.

Last collection Wednesday, December 23: Next collection Monday, January 5.

Last collection Thursday, December 24: Next collection Tuesday, January 5.
