“I’m delighted because we also had an outstanding Ofsted report last year,” she said.

“Once we had achieved that, the pressure to maintain it had increased, but now it’s validation that we’re all doing things right.”

Working with children from two years old, the pre-school uses the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), which is the framework provided for Early Years settings and ensures the best possible care and education to each child.

Mrs Martin continued: “There’s been quite a lot of changes in the Early Years foundation stage and teachers had to take up new ways to monitor the children’s progress.

“After a year the Ofsted inspector could see the progression of the children has been closely monitored and this is because the staff have been positive and forward thinking.”

The inspector’s report indicated that children were making ‘excellent individual progress’, ‘well motivated’ and ‘confident communicators’.

It was also shown that staff ‘strongly value partnership working’, are ‘committed to driving improvement’ and ‘value contributions and ideas from families’.

“All the parents and everybody have worked together to help make this happen,” Mrs Martin added.
