Travellers set up on Eastbourne seafront

Police and council officials have been talking to the group, which has parked several vehicles on grassland by the Sovereign Centre.

A spokesperson at Eastbourne Borough Council said, “The council’s Neighbourhood First Team is on site with Sussex Police and the East Sussex County Council Traveller Liaison Team to conduct welfare checks and other assessments.

“We will provide further updates in due course.”
