Man seriously injured after roof fall

A WORKMAN was airlifted to hospital after falling from a roof in Rusper, near Horsham, yesterday (Monday February 13).

Emergency services were called to the scene at Lambs Green around 3pm after the man, believed to be in his 50s, fell from a ladder while carrying out repair work to a television aerial.

Crew from South East Coast Ambulance say the patient was unconscious on arrival and suffered serious head and chest injuries.

Paramedics from Sussex Air Ambulance issued emergency treatment before he was flown to a specialist neurology centre at King’s College Hospital in London.

Sussex Police arrived on the scene at 5.15 before the incident was reported to the Health and Safety Executive.

A spokesperson for the force said the man remains in ‘serious condition and is receiving treatment for a head injury’ today (Tuesday February 14).
