Driver abandons car after crashing into road sign and ditch in Wiggonholt
A car was abandoned by its occupants after it crashed into a road sign and a water-filled ditch this morning (Tuesday March 31).
Just after midnight, an ambulance crew travelling on the A283 over Wickford Bridge, Wiggonholt, spotted a car in the ditch.
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said the car collided with road signage, left the road and ended up in a ditch of water around a foot deep.
The car’s occupants had left the scene before the arrival of emergency services.
The car was inspected and the incident was left with Sussex Police. The vehicle was recovered shortly before 1.30am.
