The exhibits are the pride and joy of local collectors and offer a unique and fascinating peek into their private world.

Assistant museum and community arts officer Rebecca Fardell said: Museums are not the only people collecting things, and this exhibition is a chance to celebrate the diversity of collecting in West Sussex.

Favourite Things is a joint venture between 13 museums and libraries in West Sussex having collections belonging to local people on display.

The exhibition runs until January 5, 2002, at the museum, housed in the Manor House, Church Street, Little-hampton. Admission is free and the museum is open from 10.30am to 4pm, Tuesday to Saturday.
