Tackling fuel poverty in Brighton and Hove this winter

In a bid to tackle these figures, The Brighton and Hove Energy Services Co-op (BHESCo) will get involved in the Government’s 'Big Energy Saving Network'; a national programme which aims to address issues of fuel poverty in the UK.

The Brighton and Hove Energy Services Co-op (BHESCo), which is a not-for-profit social enterprise, aims to develop renewable energy projects, improve energy efficiency, reduce fuel bills and tackle fuel poverty.

BHESCo offers free, impartial advice to anyone in the area who wants to save money on their energy bills. Since 2014, the co-op has helped nearly a thousand local bill-payers to collectively save £54,000.

BHESCo’s founder Kayla Ente said: “We are thrilled to be a part of the ‘Big Energy Saving Network’ again. The programme allows us to make a real difference to the warmth and wellbeing of the city’s most vulnerable residents.”
