Sure Start fun day

In conjunction with the launch of the Coastal Currents arts festival, sculptor Christine Kowai Post held a workshop with youngsters from Sidley and Central Bexhill wards.

Christine is one of nine sculptors commissioned to create artistic monoliths in Egerton Park as part of the Coastal Currents Park Life project.

She is responsible for two of the twelve sculptures that will appear in the park this weekend and worked with the children to expand her themes of Witch and Woman Being Eaten by a Crocodile.

Christine is a member of the local sculptors network Nine Days Wonder and all have contributed to Park Life. Organisers hope it will be a way of bringing modern art to audiences who would not normally go to exhibitions.
