Support your pipe band

The Robertson Pipe and Drum Academy is taking to the streets on Saturday.

Pipers and drummers will march and play for the public and also raise money for the band.

Spokesman Pat Donoghue commented: "As you know we held a Pipefest in the town last year to raise money for charity...Well in July 2010 the first ever global pipefest is taking place in Edinburgh, and it is the intention of the band to go as a unit and take part and help to raise thousands of pounds for Marie Curie Cancer Care UK.

"To do this we are asking for help from the people and businesses in Bexhill. Come out on Saturday and support your pipe band - and help us to do something wonderful.

"The parade will start from The Gael, in Sea Rd, at 1pm and parade through the town. The Royal British Legion in Buckhurst Square , the Mermaid on the De La Warr Parade and the Colonnade below the De La Warr Pavilion have all agreed to allow us to do static performances en route.

"The Parade will finish at the Colonade where we will be performing in the celebration of their Centenary in 2011. So come on down and give us a cheer."
