Straw bales destroyed in Bognor blaze

Around two tons of baled straw was destroyed by a fire in Bognor Regis on Monday (October 12).

The blaze is thought to have been started by arsonists just off Hoe Lane, at its junction with the A259 in Flansham, Bognor.

Firefighters rushed to the scene at around 3.25pm and spent more than an hour dampening down the straw using pitch forks and a heavy rescue tender.

Crews from Bognor and Chichester attended the fire, and left the scene at around 4.30pm.
