Stolen car found ablaze after ‘deliberate ignition’ near Pulborough

A stolen vehicle which was deliberately set on fire was found near Pulborough this morning (Tuesday March 31).

Emergency services were called to the junction between Nutbourne Road and West Chiltington Road at around 1.25am where they found a 4x4 ablaze.

Police said the car had been stolen from the forecourt of car dealers Arun Limited in Pulborough and a spokesperson for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (WSFRS) added the blaze had been lit deliberately.

The spokesperson for WSFRS said: “It was a deliberate ignition. One hose reel and two breathing apparatus were used.

“A crew from Storrington attended the incident.”
