Singleton Fête proves popular with young people

CHILDREN’S activities proved popular at this year’s Singleton Fête, with the numbers of young people attending well up on last year.

Displays included children’s country dancing, Irish dancing and a dog handling display from Canine Partners.

More than 400 people attended the fête, held at Singleton Cricket Field. Among them were many children, with the number more than 15 per cent up on last year.

The fête committee said: “We are very pleased to report that on Saturday, June 13, in Singleton, it did not rain on our fête just for a change!

“Chichester City Brass Band, immaculately attired, gave us one of the best concerts we can remember.

“Sincere thanks to all who supported us, provided prizes and most of all who attended, and we look forward to seeing you next year, when who knows what will be the main attractions.”

The fête, bigger and better than ever before, raised more than £4,400.
