Sidley family safety day

"Keeping safe and sound" is the theme for a Family Safety Day being held at Sidley Baptist Church on Tuesday October 28 from 10'“3pm.

The day has been organised by Hastings and Rother PCT and organisations supporting the event include Rural Rother Children's Services, East Sussex Healthy Homes , Pensions Services, Trading Standards and many more.

Amongst the advice available on the day will be home and garden safety, food safety, medicine management and health promotion, toy safety and a sloppy slipper exchange, promoting falls prevention.

Free electric blanket testing will also be available but by appointment only - contact Maggie Cornish on 01424 457129.

For families and younger visitors, there will be face painting and crafts, together with lots of information and free gifts.

Representatives from Sussex Police will be available for those who would like a bike marked and protected from theft.

Margaret Delahoy, Public Health Development Worker, said: "There'll be something for people of all ages at this event, which will be a great opportunity for Sidley residents to access information and advice on safety issues" .
