Serial thief hunted after Crowhurst break ins

POLICE are hunting a serial burglar who is targeting holiday parks across Rother and Hastings.

Four caravans have been broken into at Crowhurst Park since last Friday, with three burgled overnight on Tuesday/Wednesday.

On Friday October 29, a caravan owner discovered the front door of the property had been forced and jewellery, including various rings, and a trinket box had been taken.

And overnight on November 2/3, the thief returned and broke into three empty properties on the site.

He jemmied open the front doors and a flat screen TV was taken from one of the buildings.

Sergeant Dan Russell, of Battle police, said: “Extra security measures have been put in place by management in relation to CCTV cameras and security patrols and we are working with Crowhurst Park in relation to crime prevention advice.”

Police are linking the thefts with similar break ins at holiday parks in Hastings and Rye.
