Rye residents can have their voice heard at Annual Meeting

RYE residents will have the chance to give their views on issues affecting the town when Rye Town Council holds the Annual Town Meeting on Wednesday March 5.

The meeting takes place in the hall at Rye College at 7pm, with registration from 6.30pm.

The meeting will include a presentation on protecting Rye from flooding by local Environment Agency chief Ian Nunn.

Colonel Anthony Kimber will be giving presentations on the work of the REACT - the Rye Emergency Reaction Community Team and the Rye Neighbourhood Plan.

Heritage Centre manager Peter Cosstick will give an overview of the past 12 months and share plans for the future.

There will be an open session from 8.20pm when residents can quiz councillors and raise concerns. The meeting is set to close at 8.59pm.

Town Clerk Richard Farhall said: “This is your annual opportunity to meet with your Town, District and County Councillors and discuss issues affecting the town with them and other townsfolk.”
